The Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure presents the Get a Running Start Expo.  The Expo will kick off the Race for the Cure weekend. You can beat the Saturday rush by picking up your race packet, rally your team, meet some of the race sponsors and just have fun.  The Expo will feature speakers, informational seminars, free products and services, demonstrations and entertainment. Come and spend a few hours to start the Race for the Cure weekend with a bang.

Here is a peek at the 1st annual Get a Running Start Expo: 

  • Danny Wood, solo recording artist and member of New Kids on the Block, will be performing at the Expo! 
  • New Balance is bringing Holly Perkins to lead multiple exercise clinics. Also, by visiting the New Balance booth, you can learn more about their Lace up for the Cure line of apparel and footwear.
  • WCVB Reporter and breast cancer survivor Kelley Tuthill will be on hand to sign her new and inspiring book, "You Can Do This! Surviving Breast Cancer Without Losing Your Sanity or Your Style  Kelley will share her thoughts with us at the Expo.
  • WKLB, our radio sponsor will keep the beat going through music and entertainment --- energizing our afternoon of fun.
  • Shaws Osco Pharmacies will introduce Expo attendees to the Clinical Services that Osco provides. 
  • Boston Harbor Cruises will introduce you to some of the ways to enjoy Boston Harbor. Plus, a sneak peak at a Dinner Cruise that they are planning for October 9th where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to our Massachusetts Affiliate. 
  • Talbots will show their support for the cause by joining us at the Get a Running Start Expo. You will need to stop by their booth to see the secret treat they will have with them.
  • Nordstrom is committed to the Susan G. Komen mission. To learn more about their local events supporting our cause, visit their booth at the Expo.
  • Community Servings will demonstrate some cooking secrets at our Expo while sharing with attendees how Community Servings delivers hope to those with life-threatening illnesses.
  • YMCA of Greater Boston is dedicated to improving the health of mind, body and spirit of individuals in our communities. In line with this mission, YMCA will provide an informative seminar, Breast Cancer 101
  • yogaHOPE, a non-profit outreach organization, will lead a yoga session at the Expo introducing attendees to the benefits of yoga. 
  • Cold Stone Creamery is committed to helping the community.  They will be scooping up ice cream to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure at the Expo.
  • Lumene products promote not only beauty but well-being.  Learn more at the Expo.
  • Bertolli Olive Oil prides itself on bringing the healthy Mediterranean Lifestyle of finding the perfect balance between work and leisure, food and friends. Bertolli will be with us giving a taste of what this Mediterranean Lifestyle is all about.

  • 4:30 - 7:00 - "Pinks Always Got The Blues" jazz trio performing in the lobby

  • 5:00 - Kelley Tuthill to speak
  • 5:30 - Danny Wood performance
  • 6:15 - Holly Perkins: Fitness clinic
