This September will be my first race, and I am excited to run and walk with my very good friend Tobi. Tobi was diagnosed with stage IV Breast Cancer that has spread to her bones. When we were discussing this race a couple months back, she was so determined to get healthy enough to walk, it just absolutely inspired me. Seeing her in pain, and talking about walking a 5K was SO amazing to me. She is doing well now, and I feel so proud to know such a motivated, positive, determined, person like her!! I made a promise to myself to help Tobi in anyway I can, and this race is such an opportunity to contribute to make a difference in what treatments might be available to her and other cancer patients. As my mother passed almost 6 years ago of cancer, I pray and hope there is a cure for all those that are sick from this disease. I just can not thank you enough for helping me in this race. It is so unbelievable to know people are so generous, supportive and kind. So thank you from the bottom of my heart and lets hope someday soon there is a cure, cancer needs to go away!!
